Los Angeles Measure S Town Hall Tuesday FEB 7 at El Camino High

February 7, 2017 by Ron Henderson

An initiative to change the city’s laws governing changes to the general plan and development projects, Measure S, will be on the ballot for voters in Los Angeles, California, on March 7, 2017.

The Neighborhood Integrity Initiative, also known as Measure S, is a ballot measure set to change the city’s laws governing changes to the general plan and development projects in Los Angeles. A yes on this measure will impose a limited building moratorium and restrictions on the general plan for two years.

All I know is the basic economic principle of “supply and demand” is in play in Los Angeles. We have a housing shortage. Both residential rents and property values have gone up substantially year over year. I personally want to hear both sides of the argument and the reasoning on why adding adding the additional supply of housing would not be productive. I for one, would like to turn the clock back to 1980, when traffic was less burdensome, and our economy rockin’… but the reality is we have a larger population that needs to be housed. Things like rent control on the existing housing supply will do nothing productive to resolve our housing issues.

The West Hills Neighborhood Council, Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council, Canoga Park Neighborhood Council, the Canoga Park-West Hills Chamber of Commerce and West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce have assembled a panel offering supportive and opposing views on ballot Measure S. and providing answers to your questions concerning ballot Measure S., to educate you about how your voice can be heard this March.

Don’t vote off sound bites, or propaganda. Go to the polls with knowledge.

When: February 7, 2017

Doors open at 6:30 PM to submit questions

Forum will be from 7:00-8:30 PM

Where: 5440 Valley Circle Blvd, El Camino Real Charter High School
