Last year, the three National Credit Reporting Agencies (NRAs) – Equifax, Experian and TransUnion – started to implement enhanced standards for collecting and updating public record data reported on consumer reports, in accordance with the National Consumer Assistance Plan (NCAP) requirements. As a result, the NCRAs removed all civil judgments and most tax liens from their consumer credit reporting databases.
And now, effective the week of April 16th, all three NCRAs will be removing the remaining tax liens from consumer credit reports.
Bankruptcy public records data will not be affected and will continue to be reported
